“We have decided to move a No Confidence Motion since the government has miserably failed on all fronts, especially on solving the farmers’ problems. People have lost faith in this government. We are ready for elections,” said the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Soon after the notice was served, the number game, in terms of MLAs, has started in earnest.
The Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has one MLA at the Assembly, cancelled his Israel tour and decided to stay back to woo the Congress MLA to defect.
The Congress with a combined strength of 181 MLAs is certain to defeat the NCM comfortably, but the moves of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy who had asked the Congress MLAs to vote according their “conscience” is as of now generating curiosity among politicos about the outcome of the No Confidence Motion.
If around 40 MLAs from the Congress switch their loyalties, the collapse of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will be certain.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has stated that the Congress government in the state was at his mercy as he claimed that most MLAs were with him. He has also said that he doesn’t want the Congress to collapse since it was brought back to power by his late father YSR.
However, he has stated at some places that the collapse of the government was inevitable.
