Hyderabad: The PCC chief, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, has replicated the double role he plays in party affairs in the government too. On Monday evening, he went to the Secretariat from Gandhi Bhavan and met the medical and health minister, Dr D.L. Ravindra Reddy, and requested him to release `2 crore per month towards 104, 108 emergency health care services so that the services can be fully operationalised. There has been a criticism against the government for not granting sufficient funds for these two prestigious services to run effectively.
Dr Ravindra Reddy told the PCC chief that he will speak to the Chief Minister and see that the required funds are released. In the morning, during an interaction with the PCC spokespersons, Mr Botsa told them that the government should have planned in advance to meet the procurement of paddy and taken timely steps to ensure that cotton seeds are made available to needy farmers at the beginning of monsoon.
He also told them that he brought this to the notice of the civil supplies minister, Mr Sridhar Babu, a few days ago. When the Centre is ready to procure as much rice as possible, we should have taken steps to mill the paddy and supply it to FCI to avoid criticism against the government. Mr Satyanarayana told them that hereafter the “policy line on various issues” will be communicated to spokespersons and they have to address the media confining to the party line only. He observed that there was no communication from the party to spokesperson on which topic they should speak all these days.
“Past is past. Let us concentrate from now onwards, You are not supposed to react to everything and talk anything as you like,” Mr Botsa reportedly told them. Meanwhile, in a brief interaction with media, the PCC chief said he has issued instructions to all party legislators not to interfere or tour the constituencies represented by another party MLA and bring in new controversies.
