June 3: Senior Telugu Desam (TD) leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy who was suspended from the party and his supporter and Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna consider the Telangana Nagara to be held at Adilabad on June 13 as a prestige issue because it is being organised after Nagam was suspended from the party. They want to send a strong message to the Telangana Telugu Desam Forum leaders that people of the region do not believe in the party president’s two eye theory.
Sources said that Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram, TNGOs leaders Swamy Goud, Deviprasad and Srinivas Goud will attend the meeting. Mr Ramann has personally invited Etela Rajender, TRS floor leader in Assembly, to Telangana Nagara and it is not clear whether the TRS is officially supporting the meeting or not. Mr Ramanna is meeting government teachers, retired government employees, youth, leaders of all caste organisations and leaders of the TNGOs, advocate JAC and doctors' JAC and appealing to them to strengthen his hands to fight for a separate Telanganna state by attending the Telangana Nagara in large numbers.
Efforts are being made to launch a campaign with a decorated vehicle in Adilabad division for the Telangana Nagara and Mr Ramanna is personally inviting TD leaders across the district to attend the meeting.
