Bhattacharjee had skipped the last politburo meeting held in Delhi on May 15.
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will stay away from the CPI-M politburo meeting beginning in Hyderabad on Friday, apparently to avoid discussions on party's debacle in the Assembly polls in the state.Party sources said Bhattacharjee, who is a member of the Politburo, would also not attend the central committee meeting on June 11 and 12.
Bhattacharjee had skipped the last politburo meeting in Delhi on May 15. In recent past too, he did not attend some crucial meetings of the party citing certain grounds.
CPI-M poll debacle in West Bengal and Kerala, which saw rout of the CPI(M), would figure prominently in both the politburo and central committee meetings at Hyderabad.
Post-poll violence, reports of attacks on CPI(M) workers and offices by Trinamool Congress, was also expected to come up for discussion at the meet.
