Baba Ramdev ready for talks with govt: Sources

Ahead of his satyagraha against corruption starting on June 4, yoga guru Baba Ramdev agreed for a dialogue with the government, sources told Headlines Today on Thursday.

Ramdev also cancelled his interaction with the media on Thursday afternoon.

The meeting comes even before his scheduled talk with Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on Friday. The sudden meeting has given rise to speculation that the fresh negotiation could lead to a breakthrough.

A group of Union ministers, including Sibal, had met Ramdev at Delhi airport on his arrival in the city to persuade him not to go ahead with his satyagraha.

According to sources, a section in the government feels Ramdev should not be allowed to go on fast as he has sought permission for a yoga camp and not for a hunger strike programme.
